Bahamian Governments MYGateway Platform Has Generated Millions in Revenue

NASSAU, Bahamas – The Digital Transformation Unit (DTU), says the Bahamian government’s MyGateway platform has generated US$3.6 million in revenue even as it processed US$25 million in exemptions.

gateamMYGateway is a centralized secure portal for you to register, request, and access a range of online services provided by the government and in a statement, DTU said that the platform, which was launched in 2021, has in excess of  100,000 registered users mark, and has processed 127,000 applications and assisted with the collected of 87,000 documents from the Centralized Collections Centre.

“We applaud our 100,000 registered users, and acknowledge that they are integral to the success of MyGateway. Their enthusiasm and feedback over the past two years has enabled us to serve our youngest user group at 18 years old up to our oldest user, who is 100 years old.

“We are honored to serve Bahamians residing in over 30 countries, and the citizens of over 70 countries legally residing in The Bahamas,” the DTU said, adding that the Road Traffic Department has generated two million dollars in revenue using the site.

The platform allows users to book appointments to have their cars inspected and licensed. They can also pay for that service ahead of their visit and according to the DTU statement,  the Royal Bahamas Police Force has had the most applications processed on the portal, with a total of 67,700.

It said that the Department of Marine Resources with 10, has the largest number of services offered on the MyGateway platform, adding MyGateway will be launching a new slate of services with digital outputs in the very near future.

“With the continued support of our stakeholders and talented project team, we will expand our user groups to include new user categories.”
