The Miami-Dade County School Board approved two items proposed by School Board Member to honor and recognize dedicated Principals and custodial workers throughout Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS).
The first item requested the endorsement of October 2021 as National Principals Month in M-DCPS.
“This school district has encountered new challenges presented by COVID-19 and our principals continue to come through when it matters the most,” Ms. Rojas said. “Through visionary leadership and tireless pursuit of success for each student, principals guide and support their schools. National Principals Month is our way of honoring their dedication and thanking them for all they have accomplished.”
The second item requested the endorsement of October 2, 2021 as National Custodial Worker’s Recognition Day.
“Custodial workers are often under-appreciated for the hard work they do day after day. These are the personnel keeping our schools and other buildings clean and well maintained at M-DCPS,” Ms. Rojas said. “The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way school buildings are cleaned and sanitized, impacting the work of our custodial staff. However, they have stepped up and found ways to meet the challenge of providing a safe and clean environment for students and school staff members to learn and teach in.”
