FREE Backyard Bash Season Kickoff with Tom Petty Tribute

South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center’s Backyard Bash, its annual season kickoff, is one of the best parties in Miami, a FREE, family friendly celebration of culture, community and music on Saturday, October 12 at 7pm. This year’s Backyard Bash features Classic Albums Live pitch-perfect concert recreation of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ third studio album Damn the Torpedoes, playing beloved hits like “Refugee,” “Here Comes My Girl,” and “Don’t Do Me Like That.” Damn the Torpedoes is the peak of Tom Petty’s songwriting with the Heartbreakers, and earned the group worldwide fame. Slick, big, and immutably classic, the album is a front-to-back feat of production and songwriting. Also in the lineup are DJ Le Spam and Blues guitarist Albert Castiglia.

albertEnjoy great music, craft beer and delicious food while you explore the Center, preview the season – and get tickets to your favorite shows, including a build-your-own subscription where patrons can create their own package of main stage performances and receive up to a 20 percent discount. In addition, the theater offers a Dance Package with 25 percent off on dance shows and a Cabaret Package with 20 percent off on the Cabaret Series (applied to select performances).

Entrance to the Backyard Bash at South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center is FREE, with fun for the entire family. Reserve yours today at SMDCAC.org. Space is limited. No coolers permitted, and food and drinks are available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Brought to you by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.
