Julian Marley Releases "The Tide Is High - The Remixes" EP

After releasing his modern electronic version of the reggae classic "The Tide Is High" earlier this summer, two-time Grammy-nominated artist Julian Marley now drops The Tide Is High - The Remixes EP, available today on all DSPs and streaming services. Produced by Monom Records label chief Alexx Antaeus, the 4-track remix EP includes a Deep House Remix, a Deep House Dub, the original mix, and a Chill House remix by Burundi-based producer/remixer Takinio Soul.

Jamaica Consulate General in NY to Lead West Indian American Day Carnival Parade Celebrations

NEW YORK, New York – In culminating its official calendar of activities commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Jamaica’s Independence, the Consulate General of Jamaica in New York says that it will, for the first time in its history, lead fellow nationals under its official banner at the West Indian Day Carnival Parade, on Brooklyn’s Eastern Parkway, on Labor Day, September 5.

NYC Launches First In-Person Caribbean Carnival in Two Years

NEW YORK, New York – With a spectacular display of masqueraders and stilt dancers, the rhythmic sounds of steel pan and soca music, and speeches from elected officials, including New York Mayor Eric Adams, the Brooklyn, New York-based West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) has launched its first in-person New York’s Caribbean Carnival after two years in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hezron Clarke to Release New Album

UNESCO Transcultura Program, Showcasing Caribbean Hip-Hop Beats, to be Held in Berlin

PARIS, France – The United Nations Educational, Social and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) says its program, Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through culture and creativity, funded by the European Union, has joined forces with the Goethe Institute and the Centre for InterAmerican Studies of Bielefeld University in Germany to showcase “The Caribbean hip-hop beat in Europe.”
