Conservation and Wildlife Expo to Take Place at the Deering Estate

MIAMI — In celebration of Earth Day, the Deering Estate will host its Conservation and Wildlife Expo on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities and programs for the entire family include conservation speakers, partner booths with hands-on activities and walking tours of the Estate's unique natural areas. Reduced admission is $10 for adults and $7 for ages 4-14.

Exhibitors will be displaying proper management of native and exotic wildlife as well as their efforts to conserve South Florida environments. Participating organizations include FIU NSF Center for Research Excellence in Science and Technology, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Biscayne National Park, Everglades National Park, Dry Tortugas National Park and the Organization of Biological Field Stations (OBFS).

There will also be a presentation by Dr. Jaeson Clayborn at noon in the Stone House Great Hall. He will be speaking about butterfly and insect conservation in Miami and the Florida Keys.
