Osceola County District 2 Commissioner Viviana Janer Endorses Mike Bloomberg for President

FLORIDA — Today, Osceola County District 2 Commissioner Viviana Janer endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, and will serve as a Co-Chair for Florida Puerto Ricans for Mike.

“I was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and grew up in New York City, so being able to be part of Puerto Ricans for Mike has deep personal meaning to me,” said Janer. “I’m excited to join a growing coalition of change makers in Florida in helping Mike usher in a new era of growth for not only Osceola County, not only Florida, but the entire United States.”

Janer was first elected to the Osceola County Commission in 2014, and is serving in her second term. Janer also serves as Chairwoman of the Osceola Board of County Commissioners. As a Co-Chair for Florida Puerto Ricans for Mike, Janer will be a strong advocate of Mike’s plan to bring full statehood to Puerto Rico, rejuvenate home owning opportunities in lower income neighborhoods, and the raising of the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

Janer is joining a continuously growing list of Florida Democrats to endorse Mike, including Former CFO Alex Sink, Florida House Minority Leader Kionne McGhee, United States Rep. Ted Deutch, former Palm Beach County Mayor and Commissioner Melissa McKinlay, Florida State Senator Joe Pizzo, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgens, Mayor of West Palm Beach Keith James, Mayor of Coral Springs Scott Brook, Pinellas County Commissioner Ken Welch among many others with further expected endorsements in the coming weeks.

The Bloomberg campaign has the biggest operation of any Democratic presidential campaign in Florida, reaching voters and leaders every day across the state. Team Bloomberg in Florida has opened 10 field offices in the last two weeks, and has plans to open 10 more by the March 17 primary. The campaign has deployed more than 100 staff across the state, with plans to expand even further before the primary.
