More Personal Protective Gear for Health Staff

The non-profit organization provided the locally manufactured face shields to health care workers on the front-line as part of their commitment to support the health sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group has also committed to supporting the health sector with other Personal Protective Equipment.

CB Group Provides Essential Workers With Cooked Meals

The CB Group through its “Recover Together” initiative has donated 950 cooked meals for essential frontline workers within the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), which administrates public healthcare in Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth. The first batch of lunches was distributed on Tuesday, June 16 to the healthcare workers in Manchester, followed by distribution in Clarendon on June 17 and in St. Elizabeth on June 19.

Commissioner Diaz and County Donate Surplus Fire Truck to Guatemala

MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County has donated a fire truck to be used to provide training to Guatemalan firefighters. The foam truck, which came from Miami International Airport’s Aviation Fire Rescue Division and had been declared surplus property by the County due to obsolescence, was loaded onto a cargo ship at PortMiami on June 23 to be transported to Guatemala.

Opposition Leads Preliminary Suriname Election Vote Count

PARAMARIBO, Suriname – Official results of general elections in the Caribbean community (CARICOM) nation of Suriname were still unknown through the end of last month, but a preliminary count of votes showed the Opposition Progressive Reform Party (VHP) held a majority of seats in the National Assembly.

21 More Recovered from COVID-19

As at Sunday (May 31), twenty-one more Jamaicans have recovered and have been released from insolation, as the number of recoveries in the island increase to 311.
