March 26, 2019 10:49 a.m. EST- The Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay takes place every year, in which law enforcement officers from around the world compete in a 120 mile long foot race.
Participants begin in Baker, California and finish in Las Vegas, Nevada. Belize last year placed second. This year Belize came in first. In a ceremony that was held at the West Gate Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Belize law enforcement officers received their trophy. Last week, representatives of Belize’s security forces, including the Belize Defence Force (BDF), the Belize Police Department (BPD), and the Belize Coast Guard competed, headed by Brigadier General David Jones. Two hundred other security teams from various states, counties, and/or countries competed.
