West Indies cricket captain Jason Holder celebratesafter making a double century against Englandin Barbados last month.
Holder had a bigger reason to celebrate later on as his team beat the visitors by 381 runs in the first match of the three Test series to take a 1-0 lead. Scores in the match: West Indies 289 and 415 runs for six wickets declared, England 77 and 246. Among the other outstanding West Indian performers were spin bowler Roston Chase, who took eight wickets in England’s second inning, Shane Dorwich, who scored a second inning century and fast bowler Kemar Roach, who took five wickets in England’s first innings. At press time The West Indies was locked in battle with England in the second Test. The teams are also scheduled to play several limited over’s games in the Caribbean.
