Caribbean Passports Improve Rankings on List of World’s Most Powerful Passports

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The latest 2024 Henley Passport Index has revealed that some passports in the region have shown an improvement in their rankings.

pportcaribAccording to the index, Barbados continues to hold onto the top spot as the most powerful passport in the Caribbean region, showing an improvement in the rankings of Caribbean countries.

The  2024 Henley Passport Index published earlier this month states that Barbados is still the top Caribbean passport positioned globally at number 20 -up from 22 place  in January and with a visa-free score of 165.

Following Barbados is The Bahamas ranking globally at 21, up from 24) with visa-free access to 161 destinations.

In third place is St Kitts Nevis, that moved up from 25th place on the list, to 23. Holders of a passport from the twin island federation, have visa free access to  157 destinations .

St Vincent and the Grenadines is next on the list -ranking globally at 23, up  from 25th place with visa-free access to 157 destinations. Also making the list is Antigua and Barbuda-ranking globally at 26 up from 27 with visa-free access to 153 destinations

The passport of Trinidad and Tobago is next,  ranking globally at 27 moving from 29 place,  with visa-free access to 151 destinations. The twin island republic is followed by  St Lucia- that ranks globally at 30, moving up from 32 with visa-free access to 148 destinations.

Grenada has the 7th most powerful passport in the region, ranking globally at position 31, up from 32, with visa-free access to 147 destinations

The island of Dominica, has a passport that ranks globally at 32  with visa-free access to 143 destinations. Belize- ranking globally at 48  up from 52 with visa-free access to 102 destinations

Next in line is  Guyana’s passport, that ranks globally at 55 with visa-free access to 89 destinations. Guyana is followed by the Jamaican passport, that is ranked globally at 55  with visa-free access to 89 destinations.

The most powerful passport in the world belongs to Singapore which has visa-free access to 195 destinations. While the least powerful passport in the world belongs to Afghanistan.
