United Homecare and Florida Memorial University Announce Partnership for an Inclusive And Equitable Miami

Miami Gardens, Florida, -- United HomeCare® (UHC), a 501 (C)(3) non-profit Home and Community-Based Home Health Agency, is proud to announce its partnership with Florida Memorial University (FMU), Office of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, a historically Black university (HBCU) located in Miami Gardens. The UHC-FMU partnership aims to advance adult learners in the home care industry with employment opportunities and address health disparities in Miami-Dade County through United HomeCare’s Learn & Work Program at FMU. The Learn and Work Program is funded in part through the generous support of TD Charitable Foundation. A joint press conference announcing the UHC-FMU Partnership will be held on April 27, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Florida Memorial University Campus located at 15400 NW 42 Avenue, Wellness Center, Miami Gardens, FL 33054.

STEM NOLA Teams with Obatala Science & CellSpring to Expose Students to Careers and Medical Research at Biotech Startups

NEW ORLEANS, LA – STEM NOLA is proud to partner with Obatala Sciences and CellSpring to engage at least a dozen high school students from the greater New Orleans area in a series of courses that will expose teens to careers in biotechnology startup companies. This extraordinary program focuses on providing high school students with exposure-rich, hands-on opportunities to engage deeply in work in the realm of STEM.

School of Science Hosts White Coat Ceremony The Annual Event Marks the Beginning of the Students’ Journey in the Bachelor’s Program

MDC’s School of Science hosted a White Coat Ceremony to welcome a new class of Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences students on April 15 at North Campus. Dr. Nwadiuto Esiobu, U.S. Department of State Jefferson Science Fellow was keynote speaker. MDC President Madeline Pumariega and alumna Latonya Leshawn Gibbs also delivered remarks.

Nearly 14,000M DC Students Will Earn Degrees for the 2020-21 Academic Year

Miami,–Nearly 14,000 graduates from Miami Dade College's (MDC) eight campuses will earn degrees for the 2020-21 academic school year,continuing to demonstrate steady resolution and hard work despite the pandemic.Due to physical distancing requirements, only aportion of this year’s graduates will receive their diplomas at three Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 1, at Marlins Park.

Students at St. George’s to Protest Against Mandatory Vaccination

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada,  – Students in the School of Arts and Science at St George’s University are planning a protest at the main entrance of the building to formally object to a decision made by the institution which stipulates that all students , faculty, staff and vendors must be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to be on the compound ahead of the start of classes in August.
