Toronto, Canada - Casting is underway for In the Black and popular American actor Richard Gant has been attached to the project to play the role of Jamaican-born Harry Gairey. Produced by CaribbeanTales Media Group and directed by Caribbean-Canadian Frances-Anne Solomon, the feature film is an adaptation of entrepreneur and activist Jamaican-Canadian Denham Jolly’s memoir of the same name.

Poet, Musician and Author Gil Scott-Heron Inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as Early Influencer

Washington, D.C. — Legendary poet, musician and author Gil Scott-Heron will be inducted posthumously in the “Early Influencer” category among the 2021 class of inductees at the 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony held October 30th at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland, Ohio. Scott-Heron, who died in 2011, will be represented by family at the ceremony. “We are thrilled by this honor,” said Rumal Rackley, Scott-Heron’s son and Administrator of his estate.

Dancehall Star Konshens Announces Release Date for Red Reign

The fifth solo studio album from the Jamaican artist is set to drop on Friday, November 12. The announcement was made through a series of red-themed promotional photos and videos released on his instagram page previewing the type of music audiences should expect from the latest project. It also included the release of the official album artwork. Red Reign is inspired by Konshens' signature red hair and his dominance in the genre. His reign over reggae continues post-pandemic with an edgier sound and an evolution of the artist himself.
