Partnership for Mental Health and Homelessness in Manchester

Recognizing that mental health and homelessness are major challenges affecting the parish of Manchester, the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA) and the Manchester Municipal Corporation (MMC) have partnered to improve the care and protection of those affected in the parish.

Prostate Cancer Risk Increases as Men Age

One in 350 men under the age of 50 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. As men age, the chance that they’ll have prostate cancer increases. One in 52 men who are 50 to 59 years old will be diagnosed.

Health Officials Issue Mosquito-Borne Illnesses Alert

Miami, FL – The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County (DOH-Miami-Dade) is under a mosquito-borne illness alert. A case of dengue fever of local transmission has been confirmed in a Miami-Dade resident, making this one the fifth local case in 2019. These local cases do not appear to be related.

In 2019, it is estimated that there will be about 269,000 newly diagnosed cases of invasive breast cancer, and about 42,000 deaths from the disease.
