Jamaica Tourist Board Reaffirms Commitment to the Diaspora Through Partnership of 8th Biennial Diaspora Conference

NEW YORK, NY – The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has reaffirmed its commitment to the Diaspora with the partnership support of the 8th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference held at the Jamaica Conference Centre in Kingston, recently.  Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade, the four-day conference which had as its theme, ‘Jamaica and the Diaspora: Building Pathways for Sustainable Development’, has been positioned as the global forum that connects Jamaicans from all over the world for inclusive dialogue and developing concrete actions in vital areas of national importance.

Sir Patrick Allen looks on as Her Excellency,  Lady Allen, wife of the Governor-General of Jamaica, pins Wayne Golding, Governor-General’s Achievement Award recipient for the Diaspora Over 35 Age Group, USA. Also sharing the occasion is Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Audrey Marks.

Miami – An investigation conducted by the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) Professional Compliance Bureau and the Public Corruption Division of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office has led to the arrest of 6-year veteran MDPD Officer Orestes Santiago Verdura and an associate, 38-year-old Ariel Sanchez.

Minister Bartlett Meets With Top Tourism Resilience Partners in Azerbaijan

Baku, Azerbaijan; Minister of Tourism of Jamaica, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett yesterday (June 16) met with some of the leading partners in the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCM) to discuss projects and deliverables the Centre will commence following the opening of its new physical facility on Mona campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in October this year.

Jamaica Tourist Board Hosts Reggae Girlz World Cup Watch Parties

KINGSTON, JAMAICA –Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz will bow into World Cup action against Brazil on Sunday, June 9 at 9:30 am ET at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble, France. The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is throwing its support behind the team and giving the Diaspora an opportunity to get in on the action by hosting a series of World Cup Watch Parties in four major markets: New York, Fort Lauderdale, Baltimore and Toronto.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA – The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) was among the sponsors of the recent South Florida Celebration for the Reggae Girlz World Cup Send-Off Tour. Organized by the Reggae Girlz Foundation in partnership with the City of Miramar, the Consulate General, the Jamaica Tourist Board, County Line Chiropractic, LASCO Foundation and Victoria Mutual Building Society, the fundraising goal of the series of events was $50,000 to support the Reggae Girlz in their 2019 World Cup preparation.

Lauderdale Lakes,FL - The results are in for the 2019 Teen Sensation Live Singing Talent Competition and Showcase!  The Competition was held Friday May 17at the Multipurpose Auditorium, in Lauderdale Lakes.The competition, now in its 6th year, culminated in a final round, featuring live performances and real-time commentary from a panel of distinguished judges.
