PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti –Haiti remains in a state of political uncertainty as the planned ceremony to swear in the President of the Senate, Joseph Lambert, as the new head of state to replace the assassinated Jovenel Moise, had been postponed indefinitely.

UNITED NATIONS – The United Nations Special Representative for Haiti has acknowledged the legitimacy of Prime Minister Claude Joseph to lead the French-speaking Caribbean nation following the “cowardly” assassination of President Jovenel Moïse on Wednesday, and welcomed his government’s commitment to hold national elections later this year.
