UK Issues Travel Advisory on Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Less than a week after Jamaica lifted its travel ban on the United Kingdom due mainly to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FDCO) has advised nationals against all types of travel to Jamaica, due to the growing number of COVID=19 cases.

Bahamas First In-Person Activity – A Resounding Success! Pilots Ready and Excited to Revisit The Bahamas Following Sun ‘n Fun

PLANTATION, Florida -   Scores of private pilots from throughout the U.S. who attended the 47th Annual Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida, April 13-18, stopped by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation  (BMOTA) booth, eager to get information about The Bahamas, the region’s top destination in general aviation.  Some of them had already begun preparations to fly out to The Bahamas, following the conclusion of Sun ‘n Fun on April 19, 2021.

LIAT Resumes Flights to Two Caribbean Destinations

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua,– The Antigua-based regional airline, LIAT, says it will resume flights to Barbados and St. Lucia later this week, after suspending them as a result of the ongoing eruption at the La Soufriere volcano in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation Returns to In-Person Trade Shows Since Pandemic

LAKELAND, Florida -    The Islands of The Bahamas is the premier and exclusive destination being featured at the 47th Annual Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo, being held April 13 -18, 2021in Lakeland, Florida. Traditionally, Florida’s largest annual convention, the show usually attracts more than 200,000 persons and 10,000 aircraft. This year’s show is expected to be a little smaller, safe and covid-19 ready.  The show also marks the return of in-person attendance at consumer and trade shows for the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation’s (BMOTA) sales and marketing team, since global borders around the world and business events went into lockdown from the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Norwegian Cruise Line to Homeport Vessel in Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica,– Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has revealed that Jamaica has finalized arrangements with global cruise company Norwegian Cruise Line to homeport one of its vessels in Montego Bay, with service set to begin on August 7, 2021.
