Port of Spain, Caribbean Airlines advises that effective January 26, 2021, all passengers traveling into the United States of America (USA), will be required to present results of a negative COVID-19 test in order to travel.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Commissioners are considering designating June 19th, also known as Juneteenth, an official paid holiday for Broward County. Juneteenth commemorates the official end of slavery in Texas on June 19, 1865. President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation had officially outlawed slavery in 1863, but it took more than two years for slavery to come to an end throughout the United States.

Additionally, the deadline to apply for the CARES Act business and rental assistance programs has been extended through December 9th at 11:59PM. These programs are made possible by the Broward County Commission and funded through the federal CARES Act. Monies distributed do not need to be paid back.

More than 100 children and their families have received a week’s supply of fresh food thanks to a new partnership betweenMCC and FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition), a company whose programs are designed to fight childhood obesity and hunger by focusing on healthy food preparation. The meal distribution program at MCC started on November 17, 2020 and will take place every Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the MCC Stage Door Parking Lot. MIAMI —"Earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19, after learning that my husband, Dr. Robert Cava, was exposed to the virus by one of his patients last Wednesday; he also tested positive today. Rob and I are quarantining safely at home. We both remain in good spirits and are fortunate to have only mild symptoms at this time. My thoughts are with all the doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, police, and fire rescue workers across our community who continue to serve and protect Miami-Dade residents despite great personal risk to themselves and their loved ones.
