Celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage This June with a New Analog and Digital Art and History Exhibition

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.– Celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage Month in the digital age with “The Island Imprint: The Art and History of the Caribbean Community in Broward County.” The fine art and historical exhibition is produced by cultural nonprofit Island SPACE (islandspacefl.org) with the patronage of  History Fort Lauderdale (historyfortlauderdale.org), and is on display through June 29. Guests can enjoy the free interactive, virtual exhibition through the Island SPACE website, and may visit the physical exhibition at History Fort Lauderdale in The New River Inn (231 SW Second Avenue) beginning on June 15. 

Jamaican artist Krystle Sabdul’s “Boys Laughing” will be featured in “The Island Imprint: The Art and History of the Caribbean Community in Broward County,” June 1 – 29 online and at History Fort Lauderdale.

Dre Island Announces Debut Album + Unveils New Video "Still Remain" (COMPLEX Premiere)

Dre Island is one of Jamaica's most powerful messengers. The multi-faceted artist – who sings, songwrites, produces and plays piano – will release his debut album Now I Riseon May 29th, 2020 through a joint-venture partnership with DubShot Records and Kingston Hills Entertainment. The 13-track release will feature the hit single “We Pray” feat Popcaan, “My City” and the recently released “Be Okay” feat Jesse Royal, as well as 9 previously unreleased songs. Other collaborations on the album include “Days of Stone” feat Chronixx and “Run to Me” feat Alandon. Today, along with the pre-order of the album, he unveils the last song on the album “Still Remain” accompanied by a brand new video directed by Fernando Hevetia.

Jamaican Singer-Songwriter Delivers Melodic 13-Track Opus

Kumar, the Jamaican former frontman of Grammy-nominated reggae act Raging Fyah, released his solo debut album Kulture Walk today. The thirteen tracks present a variety of musical styles, and include features with a diverse groups of artists like M1 of legendary hip hop group dead prez, and Agent Sasco (the Jamaican spitfire deejay formerly known as Assassin).
