The Movie Star and Civil Rights Attorney Bryan Stevenson He Plays Discuss the Film’s Importance

Over 30 years after the Montgomery Bus Boycott launched, civil rights activist and death row attorney Bryan Stevenson came to Alabama’s capital city to spark a new, quieter movement against the death penalty. That was in 1989. Working through his Equal Justice Initiative, which now includes a team of 40 attorneys, Stevenson has since overturned over 135 death sentence convictions in Alabama.

JCDC Jump-Starts 2020 Performing Arts Festival with Intensive Workshops

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) will jump-start the 2020 National Festival of the Performing Arts with a series of extensive and insightful workshops across the island slated for November and December 2019. The workshops aim to promote awareness of the competition, offer guidance with the application process and educate prospective participants about the various stages of the competition, from auditions to national finals.

The Bahamas Benefit Concert will be held on Saturday, October 26th at the Amphitheater at Miramar Regional Park located at 16801 Miramar Parkway. The concert starts at 5:00 p.m., rain or shine.
