The countdown to Miami-Broward Carnival has begun. It’s that time of year when thousands of revelers descend on South Florida to dance, fete and enjoy the music, food and parade that is known as Miami Carnival.

All Grown Up, Nadine Sutherland to Kick off 40th Anniversary Celebration at Miramar Cultural Center; Chris ‘Johnny’ Daley Shares Stage With Comedy.

Miramar, FL – This coming December 13, will mark 40 years since little Nadine Sutherland came to prominence, winning the first Tastee Talent Contest back in 1979 with her vocal skills. The accomplished artist plans a year-long celebration, which will begin on Friday, October 18 at the Miramar Cultural Center when she performs “All Grown Up” with the Code Red Band. Another former child star, Chris “Johnny” Daley, will share the stage with Sutherland, making for an exceptional evening of music and comedy.

FREE Backyard Bash Season Kickoff with Tom Petty Tribute

South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center’s Backyard Bash, its annual season kickoff, is one of the best parties in Miami, a FREE, family friendly celebration of culture, community and music on Saturday, October 12 at 7pm. This year’s Backyard Bash features Classic Albums Live pitch-perfect concert recreation of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ third studio album Damn the Torpedoes, playing beloved hits like “Refugee,” “Here Comes My Girl,” and “Don’t Do Me Like That.” Damn the Torpedoes is the peak of Tom Petty’s songwriting with the Heartbreakers, and earned the group worldwide fame. Slick, big, and immutably classic, the album is a front-to-back feat of production and songwriting. Also in the lineup are DJ Le Spam and Blues guitarist Albert Castiglia.

The First Annual Madame Gougousse Creole Culture Fest

Miramar, Florida,. The First Annual Creole Culture Fest presented by Madame Gougousse will feature a top-notch line up of Creole, Reggae, Soca and Afro Pop performers. Prominent entertainers representing Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Vincent, Toronto, Grenada, Trinidad, Eritrea (East Africa) and Saint Lucia, to name a few, are scheduled to deliver stellar performances.
